Alfreda Clark dedicates her career to providing children and families with optimal experiences that contribute to positive life outcomes. Alfreda’s expertise includes executive oversight of child development centers and early childcare service providers. Her experience and dedication have helped children from diverse backgrounds gain the tools they need and deserve to thrive.
She is a dynamic leader with over fifteen years of progressively responsible management of educational initiatives. In-depth knowledge of state and city regulations governing construction and implementation of start-up facilities. Proven ability to run successful quality programs based on external audits. Recently served in the roles of Executive Operations & Project Manager for the Alchemist Collective under one of WIRED’s Top 100 Executives and serial entrepreneur’s throughout the London 2012 Olympics and initiatives in the Greater Detroit area. Alfreda also is one of the founding minds behind the local show Detroit Wants 2 Know which launched in 2010 with host Steve Hood airing on networks WADL, WDIV & WXYZ. Her roles include marketing, first point of contact for guests, b-roll assistant, guest host, producer, floor director and researcher, also serving as a routine commentator and contributor to the Financial Crisis & Legal Talk Center on Clear Channel’s 1130AM WDFN. Consistent record of forging strong business relationships with prospects and clients. Readily establishes positive rapport with staff and works collaboratively to achieve corporate goals. Committed to team-building and personnel training/development. Strong track record of increasing referrals and creating community awareness, generating revenues, and implementing cost saving measures. Regarded as in-house computer resource person, providing end user support, training, and troubleshooting.
Alfreda holds an undergraduate degree in child development from Michigan State University. She served as a board member for several organizations including Michigan-based Child Care Coordinating Council (4C) and led special projects for the Junior League. She holds membership with NAEYC and NBCDI.
In her role as Center Director, Alfreda oversees West Lakes ELC including the clinic, comprehensive services, community outreach and the school.
