Robert Ryshke was the Executive Director of the Center for Teaching at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA, for 16 years. He was on the design team for Drew Charter School and partnered with the school for 12 years. Currently, he consults with Purpose Built Communities. Before being in Atlanta, he was the Head of School at The Meadows School in Las Vegas, NV. His career in education spans 45 years, having started as a science teacher at the Trinity School in New York City in 1979. He worked at Phillips Academy, a boarding school in Massachusetts, and then became the Head of the Science Department and Director of Studies at the Marlborough School in Los Angeles. For ten years, he was the Upper School Director at Moses Brown School, Heritage Hall, and North Shore Country Day School. Mr. Ryshke received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and his Master of Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has a Master of Science Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, before starting his teaching career at Trinity School. He is married to Renee LeStrange, a psychotherapist, and has a daughter, Linnea, who is an artist and assistant professor of visual art at Nicholls State University in Louisiana.
